Ackerley is Marchmain's best friend ever since meeting on the Hogwarts express. They helped each other from homework (like they needed it) to when they got sick or hurt. After the end of their fifth year, Marchmain felt a bit different towards Ackerley, she was starting to fall in love with him. In the middle of her sixth year she felt crushed that he asked someone else to the ball but she wasn't going to let it show so she went with someone else even if the pang in her heart was felt through-out the night. She should have suspected that she wasn't the only one who liked him, he was on the quidditch team, as seeker. Eveyone liked the ravenclaw seeker and it made her feel jealous beyond belief. Let's just say, he was probably the only one who could make her fly (and she was scared to death of heights!).
